-Small group work with me, reading decodables aligned with our UFLI lessons -Daily read-alouds -Daily Lexia Core 5 usage We will read Julius, the Baby of the World this week. We will continue to learn about: -Character Traits -Retelling stories -Text Connections (text to self) -Problem/Solution -Making predictions/inferences Next week in word study... -Daily Heggerty lesson where we focus on rhyming words, beginning and ending sounds, blending and segmenting one syllable words, manipulating words by adding, deleting or substituting sounds to make a new word -UFLI Lesson 44 and 45 where we learn the ck /k/ rule and the digraph, sh. Next week in math... -Dice Subtraction -Craft-stick bundles to help understand place value for tens and ones -Birds on a Wire story problem to practice combinations of 10 -PLEASE practice writing and identifying teen numbers at home. Next week in writing... We have successfully started poetry! Students will continue to listen to poetry, read poetry and write poetry. Next week in science... PLTW with Ms. Schemanske. During this month, we will also begin our last science unit, Living it Up! which is about living and nonliving things. We will start this unit next week by thinking about what humans and animals need to survive. Until next week, Ms. Fata :)
